Bride to BrideAmanda Porter and a Bride

Weddings are a ceremonial commitment - a personal celebration of love, shared by two people, requiring careful thought, planning and exact attention to detail. Through meticulous wedding planning, Amanda uses her creative genius to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary; the imagination to provide the perfect wedding of your personal dreams.

  • Don't be scared to shop locally! Wedding dresses are big purchases, but they do not have to be bought in big cities. Most dress vendors have access to just about anything you desire, and familiarity with the local merchants may insure a higher quality of service.

  • Think outside the mints and nuts box! Wedding mints and mixed nuts are actually quite pricey for the quality of yum they produce. Branch out and embrace a cheese/grape mixture or a simple spinach dip and increase your wow factor without increasing your cost.

  • If you can't do it - book it quick! Photographers, ministers, florist and church/reception sites can quickly become "booked", especially during peek wedding season. In many cases these details may predict your wedding date. Make it a priority or you may be disappointed.

  • Avoid over planning for the wedding week! If someone volunteers to help, give them a job. Fluffing table cloths, meeting caterers, lighting candles, grabbing last minute details and maintaining the wedding party will make you crazy. Don't be scared to sit back and let others help - the less detail consuming your time - more lasting memories, "because you will actually remember your wedding day!"

  • Bring the "to go" box! You may not have time or the nerves to snack on your wedding day goodies, so appoint someone and something to pack the stash for the ride to the airport or over night stay.

"Weddings are easier the second time around...but that is not exactly how it works"
